BLAINE, Wash. — A 73-year-old Blaine man is dead after an accident involving a semi on I-5 near Bow Hill Road Wednesday afternoon.
The State Patrol reports a Lynden woman struck a deer and was stopped in the left lane along with a Ferndale driver behind her, and his passenger, Delton K. Walter.
Troopers say the Bellevue driver of the semi and trailer, Valery Kalashnikov, moved to the left lane to avoid a slowing vehicle and hit the Ferndale driver’s car, pushing it into the other car.
The Ferndale man was taken to the hospital, but Walter died.
No one else was hurt and troopers are still investigating the crash.
