BLAINE, Wash. – Blaine Police now say recent attacks on cats in the city appear to be the work of wildlife or other animals.

The Police Department says they have received two reports.

One was confirmed to be a coyote attack that was witnessed and the other involved a severed head.

Officers contacted the Humane Society which says they have received a report of a dog attack on a cat.

The department urges residents to call 911 and report any suspicious activity involving animals.

And they are reminding pet owners that their animals can encounter wildlife and other dangers when out and keeping them inside will keep them safe.
