BLAINE, Wash. – A Blaine police officer was sent to the hospital after he was hit by a car while pulling a u-turn near the truck border crossing.
The Washington State Patrol says a fully marked Dodge Charger Blaine police cruiser driven by Officer Mike Munden was hit by a minivan driven by Kenneth Wu of Surrey, BC at about 2:30pm Sunday.
The collision occurred after a lane change and u-turn by Munden.
Both vehicles were totaled; both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
Officer Munden suffered a minor injury and was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital as a precaution.
