STANWOOD, Wash. — A blown tire sent two local women and a baby to the hospital after one car spun out and another rolled.

The State Patrol says Caterina Roy of Sumas was driving south on I-5 near Stanwood when her rear tire blew out, causing the car to hit a vehicle driven by Lynden woman Judy Bush.

Bush’s car then spun to the right shoulder, while Roy’s car left the road and rolled down an embankment.

Bush was not injured.

Caterina and Celena Roy were taken to the hospital, but a baby girl in Roy’s car was taken to Harborview Medical Center.

No charges are expected.
