Blaine, WASH. — Border Patrol agents in Blaine stopped a reported attempt to smuggle Romanian nationals into Whatcom County.
A spokesperson for U.S. Customs and Border Protection says agents saw three individuals illegally crossing the U.S./Canada border Saturday morning.
A subject in a vehicle waiting nearby picked them up, at which point a Border Patrol agent stopped and detained them.
All of the individuals were Romanian nationals with no legal status in the U.S.
The driver was arrested, the vehicle was seized and all individuals were processed for removal.
