BOTHELL, WASH. (AP) – A Bothell City Councilmember is pushing an initiative to ban safe-injection sites in King County for heroin and other drugs.
Councilmember Joshua Freed says he’d prefer to discourage doctors from prescribing opiates, expand treatment and make sure police and firefighters have the overdose drug naloxone.
Seattle Mayor Ed Murray and King County Executive Dow Constantine support the creation of two safe-injection sites.
