OLYMPIA, Wash. — 11-year-old boy Isaiah Bermeo is brain dead after he was hit by a driver who fled the scene near Olympia on Sunday.
His family says Bermeo has severe autism and had wandered away from home shortly before he was hit on Highway 101.
They expect him to pass away soon at Harborview Medical Center.
State troopers are looking for a silver or cream colored minivan.
KOMO reports a man named Ron Pfaff witnessed the crash, and he didn’t believe there was any way the driver couldn’t have noticed hitting the boy.
Ron tried to save an 11-yr-old’s life last night after a hit & run left him in a ditch along Hwy 101 near Olympia. Ron did CPR for several minutes before medics arrived.
