BIRCH BAY, Wash. — Birch Bay just got $100,000 closer to building their new library.
The Northern Light reports BP Cherry Point made the first major public donation to the library on Monday.
“I think this donation makes this project real. It’s really happening,” says Dianne Marrs-Smith, president of group responsible for fundraising.
The group expects it will take about five years and $3.7 million to build the facility which will be located in the 7000 block of Birch Bay Drive, property the Whatcom County Library System bought in 2017.
