BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Bellingham police have arrested a man accused of assaulting multiple officers during the January 28 protest at City Hall.
The suspect was part of a growing crowd who showed up and obstructed Public Works from clearing an illegal homeless encampment on the property.
Lieutenant Claudia Murphy reports 21-year-old Cavan Sperry was seen at the front of the protester line they formed as a barrier to stop the sweep.
Murphy says body cam footage shows Sperry look at an officer in full uniform and then shove them intentionally.
He is suspected of shoving another uniformed officer later in the day.
