BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Saturday morning was the annual Shop-With-a-Cop event, bringing law enforcement from all over Whatcom County together with local children in need.
The Bellingham Police Department says on a Facebook post more than 40 young kids gathered at Walmart to eagerly await a caravan of police cruisers and emergency vehicles carrying Santa.
Kids paired up with law enforcement officers and firefighters to eat breakfast, go Christmas shopping and get a picture with Santa.
BPD thanked donors, including the Lummi Nation Council, Walmart, Tiger Construction, and PetSmart for making the event possible.
