BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Bellingham Police are looking for a Ferndale man who led officers on a wild chase in an RV Wednesday night, October 26th.

Police Lt. Claudia Murphy says patrol officers noticed an RV belonging to 37-year-old Marcos Salinas parked at some gas pumps in the 4200 block of Meridian Street just after 10 p.m.

They knew Salinas was wanted on domestic violence and theft warrants and tried to contact him.

He appeared to be intoxicated as he stumbled toward the RV, got in, started it and reversed into a wall.

He rammed two occupied police vehicles head-on and took off with police in pursuit.

The police chase went about 5 miles toward downtown Bellingham.

Salinas almost hit two other police vehicles and an officer who was outside his car during the chase.

The increasing danger to the public caused police to terminate the pursuit and Salinas was able to escape.

He’s now wanted on multiple assault, eluding and malicious mischief charges in addition to the previous warrants.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact Bellingham Police.
