BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Bellingham Police are working to identify a man they arrested for stopping vehicles, trying to get into some and generally causing mayhem at the Lakeway Fred Meyer store on Sunday.
Lt. Claudia Murphy says the suspect who smelled strongly of intoxicants tried to get a woman with an infant to let him into her car then intentionally tore off a license plate.
He then got in front of a Greyhound bus and pounded on the windshield, forcing the driver to carefully go around him.
He scraped a name into the side of another car and tried to grab an iPad from a fourth vehicle.
Officers arrested him on a number of charges but he has refused to identify himself.
