BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The City of Bellingham is ordering an end to the encampment at City Hall.
A legal notice posted on the city’s website states that the areas around City Hall and the Public Library must be vacated by 4 p.m. Friday.
Anyone refusing to move can be cited for tresspassing.
The city will clean-up the site and any remaining personal items that don’t pose a health risk will be held at no cost for 60 days.
The city encourages those in the camp to seek shelter at existing facilities and asks that those who have been providing assistance redirect that to local agencies that serve the homeless.
