WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – Two Whatcom County Sheriff’s deputies were shot while responding to a dispute in the Peaceful Valley area near Kendall a little after 4 o’clock Thursday afternoon.
Witnesses reported that two men were shooting at each other and the deputies were shot while trying to dialogue with a man armed with a shotgun.
Both deputies have been transported to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center.
Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Deb Slater says their condition is unknown.
No suspect is in custody at this time.
