BLAINE, Wash. – Peace Arch Park in Blaine has been the one spot where loved ones and families separated by the border and COVID-19 could visit one another in person.
But that’s coming to an end.
The rendezvous has become so popular that the British Columbia government is closing its portion of the park.
The CBC reports access roads and parking lots from Canada have been overwhelmed with traffic, causing public safety concerns.
BC closed its side of the park at 8 o’clock last night until further notice.
Washington Parks is keeping the U.S. side open.
