WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – You can sit around the open fire in rural Whatcom County this weekend.
The Fire Marshal says recent rains have allowed the current burn ban to be dialed back to Stage 1 at 5 p.m. Friday, September 3rd.
That means outdoor recreational fires are allowed again in unincorporated parts of Whatcom County.
Fires can only be made with seasoned firewood or charcoal, in an approved enclosure with plenty of clearance and water nearby.
All other outdoor burning including yard debris and land clearing is still prohibited.
For more information on the burn ban visit the County’s website.
