VANCOUVER, Canada – The Vancouver, BC store that sold Trader Joe’s products is closed.
Pirate Joe’s owner Mike Hallatt tells the CBC he ended his fight with Trader Joe’s by closing Wednesday night.
In turn, the company will drop its lawsuit against him.
Hallatt would buy groceries at Trader Joe’s stores in Bellingham and other cities, mark them up, and resale them at Pirate Joe’s.
He started a crowdfunding campaign in hopes of raising enough money to battle the lawsuit, but decided to throw in the towel.
