SUMAS, Wash. – A Canadian trucker was acquitted after trying to enter Canada at the Sumas border crossing with 51 pounds of cocaine in a hidden compartment in his semi.

The Bellingham Herald reports a judge ruled the Langley man “probably” knew the cocaine worth $2 million was there, but prosecutors didn’t present enough evidence to convict him.

The judge says, even though the semi was in the man’s possession when the drugs were found in 2012, there was no proof he actually knew he was carrying the cocaine.
