BELLINGHAM, WASH. – Bellingham wages are down.
Way down, according to a Seattle P-I article.
But some people are skeptical.
The article found that Bellingham saw the largest wage decrease in the state among big cities – nearly 10-percent – from 2015 to 2016.
But in a Facebook post about the story, Whatcom County Councilmember Todd Donovan, former County Planning Director David Stalheim and Bellingham Herald business editor Dave Gallagher were all skeptical of the numbers.
Gallagher reminds us that at the end of 2016, Hart Hodges, the predominate expert on the local economy, presented data that showed wages rising.
