YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) – Firefighters are making progress on several wildfires thanks to light winds in central Washington.

The largest fire burning northwest of Quincy is 50% contained.

Another fire that burned to within a quarter mile of the one near Quincy is 75% contained.

A fire southeast of Wenatchee is 81% contained.

The Yakima Herald-Republic reports a wildfire near Yakima is just about fully contained.

All evacuation notices were rescinded or downgraded to the lowest level.
