WOODINVILLE, Wash. – The largest winery in the Pacific Northwest has already moved its red wine production to eastern Washington.
But their massive white wine production will soon be making the move to join them and that could mean the end of its sprawling Woodinville estate.
The 118-acre Chateau Ste Michelle property was listed for sale by Dallas-based CBRE Inc. earlier this month, according to the WA Wine Report.
In a press release, the winery said that part of the reason for the move was to cut down on the amount of fuel needed to transport their wine across the state.
Chateau Ste Michelle’s grapes are all grown in eastern Washington.
Don’t expect any drastic changes just yet.
The winery says they’re just “exploring their options” when it comes to selling their massive estate.
Chateau Ste Michelle has been stationed in Woodinville since 1976.
