SEATTLE, Wash. (AP) — A child was killed and his parents badly burned in a wildfire in Okanogan County.
A GoFundMe page set up for Jake and Jamie Hyland of Renton says they and their 1-year-old son were on a short trip to their family property and were likely trapped by the Cold Springs Fire Sunday night.
Their truck was found abandoned and burned.
Search and rescue crews eventually found them near the Columbia River but the child had already died.
KING 5 reports both parents were airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with 3rd degree burns.
The Cold Springs Fire has burned almost 200,000 acres and destroyed multiple structures.
