BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A local church is turning the product of a crime into a force for good.

Reverend David Weasley, pastor at First Congregational Church of Bellingham, says the church was vandalized last summer by an individual who was in crisis.

The windows were boarded up with plywood, which was turned into art after the repairs were complete.

The paintings are being auctioned to benefit local mental health organizations, including NAMI Whatcom and the LEAD program.

The auction runs through December 14th on the website Broken For Beauty.
