BLAINE, Wash. – Heads up to our travelers from Canada, leave your “Christmas” oranges at home.

Customs and Border Protection says citrus fruit cannot be brought into the U.S. from Canada due to possible exposure to harmful diseases or bugs while in storage.

They say there’s typically an influx of these fruits this time of year.

Even citrus that was grown in the U.S., but purchased in Canada, is prohibited from coming back into the U.S.
