BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Local restaurants who were hard hit by the coronavirus pandemic may have some good news coming their way.
The City of Bellingham is accepting applications for a competitive grant program specifically designed to support food and beverage businesses in Bellingham’s City Center and Fairhaven districts.
The City will uses CARES Act funds to issue up to $500,000 with awards of up to $20,000 to businesses that can demonstrate significant business adaptations, local impacts and contribution to vitality.
Applications are due October 7 and funding decisions are anticipated by mid-October.
CARES Act funding has also been dedicated to support other small businesses in Whatcom County as well as childcare providers, the public emergency response, food and housing security and services for those living unsheltered.
