BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A new winter homeless camp has been approved by the City of Bellingham.
The City is working with HomesNow to locate a temporary emergency winter shelter at the Civic Athletic Complex in the Geri Field parking lot.
Crews are working to prepare the area to house up to 28 people.
Shelter will start with tents until tiny homes arrive on location later this month.
The City expects the site to open next week.
