BELLINGHAM, Wash. – We may know more about the future of the jail proposal Tuesday night.
The Whatcom County Council could start the process of putting the measure in front of voters.
But first, it’s dealing with some questions from the Bellingham City Council.
The City Council wants to know more about jail size, location, and costs, as well as alternatives for the mentally ill and other issues.
It wants a response from the County Council before it signs off on a jail agreement.
The county has until August 1st to put the jail proposal on the November ballot.
