BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The city extended the current permit for Bellingham’s tiny home encampment.
The permit for the site at the city’s Post Point Wastewater Treatment Plant in Fairhaven was due to expire April 30th.
But the city decided that moving the encampment would create too much of a danger of exposure to the coronavirus for residents and volunteers.
It’s extended the permit for 90 days.
Homeless advocacy group HomesNOW! operates the facility and has withdrawn its application to relocate the tiny homes to the former Clean Green site at Woburn and Lakeway.
