BELLINGHAM, Wash. — While the City of Bellingham urges everyone to continue practicing good hygiene and keeping surfaces clean, you’re asked to not flush sanitary wipes.
The Public Works Department says “there’s no such thing as a flushable wipe,” and interim director Eric Johnston says they clog up the waste system.
He says to put wipes directly into the trash, as that’s where they will end up anyway.
