BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The City of Bellingham has issued a recreational burn ban.

The fire department is prohibiting all recreational fires effective this morning due to the recent heat wave and dry weather.

The ban includes all campfires, outdoor fireplaces, and fires in fire pits or other enclosures.

Propane and natural gas fire pits and barbeques, as well as charcoal barbeques, are still allowed as long as wood is not being burned.
