BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The City of Bellingham wants your help in recreating a fun and historic moment from the community’s days of old.

On May 1st, 1948 downtown Bellingham hosted a May Day bike parade that was famously captured in a photograph now belonging to the Whatcom Museum Photo Archive.

Mayor Seth Fleetwood is hoping to recreate that photo this upcoming May 1st with another Bellingham Bike Parade to kick off a month of celebrations for “Bike Anywhere Month”.

Anyone wanting to participate is asked to bring their bicycle to the WECU parking lot on E. Holly Street at 12:30 p.m., with the ride down Holly street to Waypoint Park beginning at 1 p.m.

Live music and food trucks await parade-goers at the end of line, in what’s sure to be a fun day with the whole community.
