BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The City of Bellingham is offering a rare opportunity for residents to get involved in local politics.

The city will be establishing an independent Salary Commission this fall, consisting of seven members of the public.

Salary Commission members will be tasked with determining the salaries of City Councilmembers.

In order to qualify, community members must live and be registered to vote in Bellingham.

The Salary Commission will meet at least six times between September and November and those interested in applying should be available for all of those dates.

Applications are being accepted through August 15th.
