BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The City of Bellingham is inviting the community to provide feedback on its Climate Action Fund.
Mayor Seth Fleetwood last fall announced his intent to create a dedicated fund for the council-approved Climate Action Plan.
“There’s all kinds of work to do in this area around efficiencies, around commercial buildings, residential buildings, transportation,” said Fleetwood. “The list goes on.”
The public forums are scheduled for Feb. 17 and Feb. 23 from 7 to 8 p.m., but additional feedback can be submitted online at engagebellingham.org
The funds would come from a proposed property tax levy presented to voters next November.
The levy would fund efforts to reduce emissions and adapt to extreme weather events.
