BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A new mural is planned for Bellingham and the city needs someone to design and paint it.

The site proposed is North Forest Street on a retaining wall that has been a repeated target of graffiti.

Officials say it has been costly to the city to continuously paint over the work of the vandals.

The mural has a budget of $15,000 for design, installation and other project costs.

Artist applications are welcome on the city web site through June 14th.

More information is available at the City of Bellingham website.
