BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Bellingham City Council and Mayor Kelli Linville have unanimously supported sending a letter to our state and federal representatives calling for reforms to gun laws.

Councilmember Terry Bornemann introduced the letter at Monday’s meeting.

In it he says “We are writing today in support of the 2,000 Bellingham students and the other students across the country who walked out of their classes in protest of the shooting in Parkland, Florida, of gun violence, and calling for gun control.”

The letter focuses on restricting the sale of assault-style weapons.
