BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A milestone on Bellingham’s waterfront will be celebrated Tuesday.
Mayor Kelli Linville will lead a ground breaking for the city’s Granary Avenue and Waypoint Park projects 3:30 Tuesday near the Central Avenue pier and granary building.
The city is asking attendees to carpool, walk, bus, or bike to the ceremony due to limited parking nearby.
The Waypoint project will create a waterfront park along Whatcom Waterway near Roeder and Central Avenue.
The Granary Avenue work on the old G-P site will provide public access from Roeder Avenue through the waterfront area and connect the new park to Cornwall Avenue.
Completion is expected late 2018.
