SEATTLE, Wash. – If you got a parking ticket in Seattle recently, you could be in luck.

KOMO reports the city will cancel around 100,000 tickets, and issue refunds for paid tickets, after officials decided parking officers did not have the authority to give them out.

The tickets were issued between September 2021 and April 2022.

Last August, Seattle transferred parking enforcement from SPD to the city’s Department of Transportation, but officers never got authorization to issue the tickets after the transfer.
