BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A north Bellingham intersection is getting a brand new roundabout.
The state Department of Transportation announced that the City of Bellingham will receive $900,000 in federal grant funding to reconstruct the James Street and Bakerview Road traffic signal as a multimodal roundabout in an effort to accommodate future development and associated traffic.
The project will include sidewalks, crosswalks and bike lanes.
Construction is expected to start in the summer of 2023.
