BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The City of Bellingham is recruiting members for a new advisory group to look into fiber optic internet.
Mayor Fleetwood encourages anyone interested in equitable, affordable internet access to consider applying.
The Broadband Advisory Workgroup will be comprised of community members, broadband and fiber optic industry professionals, and those with backgrounds in business and finance.
Their goal will be to evaluate the possibility of municipally owned broadband infrastructure as a way to increase the availability, affordability, and quality of internet access across the community.
Those interested can apply on the City’s website.
