BELLINGHAM, Wash. – If you’re thinking about lighting off fireworks in Bellingham next week, the city has a message for you.

All consumer fireworks are prohibited in the City of Bellingham and have been since 2014.

Public safety officials issued a reminder of that fact in light of the cancellation of the community fireworks display at the waterfront this year due to COVID-19.

The prohibition includes fountains, sparklers, smokeballs, and ground-spinning fireworks commonly referred to as “safe and sane” fireworks in addition to rockets, aerial missiles, roman candles and other projectile fireworks, and is detailed on the City’s website.
