BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Traffic will be impacted along one of the main routes through Bellingham for the remainder of the year.
Crews with the City of Bellingham will be working to replace an old wood-supported bridge at the intersection of State and Ellis streets.
The bridge was originally built in the late 1930s and has gradually deteriorated.
The city says work to replace it will begin on April 5 and last up to nine months.
The bridge will be fully closed to traffic 24 hours a day beginning in early May.
