BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The City of Bellingham is stepping up its current preparation for disasters including extreme weather.

New actions include supplying a generator at City Hall, providing support to amateur radio operators, increasing access to information for non-English speakers, and updating tsunami models for the public.

The City also encourages the community to be prepared for potential disasters.

The Port of Bellingham and the Washington State Emergency Management Division will host a free disaster preparedness and business continuity planning workshop on November 4th.

The event is open to the public and will be held in the Squalicum Boathouse from 1 PM to 4 PM.
