BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Be aware of some traffic impacts near the hospital in Bellingham next month.

Squalicum Parkway will be reduced to one lane for up to 3 weeks starting the week of September 8 while crews construct a fish-passable culvert under Squalicum Parkway near where it turns into Birchwood Avenue, just north of PeaceHealth St. Joseph’s.

It’s part of the City of Bellingham’s Squalicum Creek Re-route Project to address water quality and habitat issues associated with man-made Bug Lake.

Flaggers will be on site during the work, but the City says drivers may want to avoid this section of road until work is complete.
