VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — A young woman who pleaded guilty to pushing her 16-year-old friend from a bridge at a popular swimming area near Vancouver was sentenced to two days in jail and 38 days on a county work crew.

The Columbian reports prosecutors had recommended no jail time for 19-year-old Tay’lor Smith.

Smith pleaded guilty earlier this month to misdemeanor reckless endangerment for pushing Jordan Holgerson in August.

The sixty-foot fall into the water below left Holgerson with multiple broken ribs and punctured lungs.
