BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Weird cloud formations over Whatcom and Skagit Counties had social media buzzing yesterday.
KOMO quotes Weather.com which says the odd formations can happen when aircraft pass through an extremely cold altocumulus cloud.
That can cause heavier ice crystals to form and fall to the ground, leaving an odd-looking hole in the cloud cover.
