BELLINGHAM, Wash. – If you’re a boat owner, you may need a new hull identification.
The Coast Guard is making changes to the numbers for safety and security reasons.
The issue for boat owners is getting the new number on their hull.
The hull ID number needs to match with the registration.
The state Department of Licensing sent letters to boat owners who need new hull numbers.
You have until the end of June to make the change.
Without a new number, you won’t be able to register, renew or title a boat.
