BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A Coast Guard boat crew from Bellingham and helicopter crews from Port Angeles made two separate rescues on Monday.

The helicopter airlifted a woman to St. Joseph Hospital after she was injured when the sailboat she was on ran aground near Sucia Island.

The boat was able to be towed to Anacortes.

A second helicopter crew from Port Angeles was dispatched after four hikers became stranded on rocks by the rising tide.

They were hoisted to safety.
