LA PUSH, Wash. — The Coast Guard rescued two men in separate incidents off the coast near La Push Tuesday afternoon.
A helicopter crew from Port Angeles performed a medical evacuation for a 22-year-old man after getting reports of a hand injury from the 254-foot fishing vessel Phoenix.
Initially, the Coast Guard tried to transfer him aboard their boat, but were unable due to rough sea conditions, facing 12-knot winds and 11-foot sea waves.
Two hours later, the Neah Bay boat crew rescued a man suffering from abdominal pain on the 353-foot fishing vessel Excellence.
