SAN JUAN ISLANDS, Wash. – A Coast Guard crew from Bellingham responded to reports of a boat taking on water near Sucia Island on Tuesday, October 4th.

They rescued three people and a dog from the 57-foot boat that was sinking after hitting rocks in Echo Bay.

The crew removed water from the boat with a pump and good Samaritans also responded to help.

The Coast Guard boat towed the vessel to Hale Passage where they transferred it to a salvage company that then towed it to Bellingham.
