BLAINE, Wash. – Whatcom Land Trust received a grant to purchase and restore four properties totaling nearly 55 acres of coastal wetland habitat and 6500 feet of shoreline situated along California Creek, which is a major tributary stream to Drayton Harbor in Blaine.

Blaine/Birch Bay Parks & Recreation also secured grants that will help them establish park infrastructure, including parking, restrooms, trails, and a kayak launch nearby.

And they plan to eventually link Birch Bay State Park and Peace Arch Park.
